The Ladybirds of Orange Wood

Satoshi Kako was a beloved and prolific author-illustrator of children’s books until his death in 2018. This allegorical tale is a wonderful example of his storytelling, which does not shy away from big themes of life and death. The 28-spotted potato ladybirds – one self-appointed bossy boots in particular – are annoying the other ladybirds in Orange Wood with their greedy and selfish behaviour. How can the other ladybirds stand up for themselves?
