A posthumous collection of tales and illustrations from Satoshi Kako, one of Japan’s most beloved and prolific modern children’s authors. He left some 240 tales, organised into categories: animals, Japan, daily life. In this, the first of three books on the everyday lives of children, young readers will encounter allegorical tales, written by Kako against the backdrop of Japan’s post-WW2 democratic movement, intended to help children navigate life without dispute, and to be creative and positive in their actions.
