A posthumous collection of tales and illustrations from Satoshi Kako, one of Japan’s most beloved and prolific modern children’s authors. He left some 240 tales, organised into categories: animals, daily life, and stores from the Japan of old. Kako collected local folk tales on his travels. This second folk tale volume features three versions of the famous tale ‘The Sparrow’s Tongue’, as well as the story of ‘Farting Judon’, in which children compete to do the most amusing fart. A wonderful collection of local and generational storytelling.
