04 Giant Anteaters
by Ryo Kisaka
supervised by Koichi Murata
The fourth book in a series focused on the baby animals young Japanese children learn about at school: this time, giant anteater pups who spend the first year of their lives on their mothers’ backs. The life of each animal, from birth through to becoming independent adults, is explored through photography and illustrations, as well as carefully crafted text by renowned children’s poet Ryo Kisaka. The series is intended to enable children to understand the differences between the upbringings and growth of the animals featured.
