by Hiroshi Saito
illus. by Michiyo Morita
Having found himself unexpectedly in an unknown town, Franz happens upon a bookstore in the station, called the Night Gallery. He decides on a whim to take a look, without realising that by stepping inside he will become caught up in a life-changing journey of mystery and magic. This is Saito’s third story in the fictional German town of Jöhdestad, following Drosselmeyer’s Puppet Theatre (published by Akane Shoten) and Alfred’s Clock Tower.
