Mamoru Suzuki

Born in Tokyo in 1952, Suzuki attended Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
He won the AKAITORI Award for illustration for his ‘Sangoro, the Black Cat’ series, and has produced many popular children’s books including those on vehicles.
For the past twenty years, he has lived in the mountains, and has become captivated by the wonder of birds’ nests. He collects and studies them, and has written many books on the subject.
He has also exhibited his collection of birds’ nests in Japan and New York.
