Seizo Tashima

Born in Osaka in 1940. He moved to contryside in Tokyo in 1969 and while recreating scenes and words from his very rural life, he also painted nature, animals and children.
With his strong painting style, he worked prolifically producing pieces such as ‘Drop a Stone and Forget’ and ‘Ball in the Grass’.
He has won many awards including the BIB Golden Apple Award for ‘Chikara Taro’ in 1969, and the Bologna International Book Fair Graphic Prize for ‘Fly, Grasshopper!’ in 1989.
He has recently been putting his writing ability to good use and is actively involved in environmental issues.
