Utako Yamada

Born in Tokyo in 1963, Yamada opened her own teahouse, called Karel Capek, in 1987.
At the same time as selecting and blending tea, planning sweet recipes and designing packages, she has also been active as an illustrator and translator of picture books and has worked on more than 20 titles.
She lives in Tokyo with her husband and two sons.
