The Tale of Cherry the Pig
by Utako Yamada
Cherry is a pig who loves making cakes and then eating them with her afternoon tea. This story is about how a chance comment by a group of rats gives her the idea of entering a cake-making contest. Only later does she learn that the mice had not intended their comment as a compliment at all.
