The Attic Ghost
by Mamiko Shiotani
An old house. An attic. And a ghost who’s been living there along for a very long time. He’s a little afraid to leave his attic and so is affronted when a little girl starts appearing daily in his own private space. So the ghost musters all of his ghostly skills—invisibility, floating, miniaturization—to scare her away. The author-illustrators characteristically delicate and detailed illustrations have been done entirely in charcoal pencil, resulting in a beautifully atmospheric mood.
