Twelve-year-old Etsu and his family move from the city to the countryside in an attempt to help his younger sister, Tsugumi, deal with her allergies. He starts junior high, his emotions a blur of excitement and confusion. His mother’s new organic café encounters problems with the locals. Then his sister gets bitten by a viper… Based on the author’s own experiences, this gently unfolding story sees the family gradually adapt to a life that’s slower but not without its own complications.
