Iku Dekune

Born in Tokyo in 1969. In 1992, she graduated from Musashino Art University, majoring in printmaking.
Her etchings on Grimm’s Fairy Tales were selected in 1998 for the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrations.
In 1999, her works on Grimm were exhibited in Kassel and at the Museums of the Brothers Grimm in Steinau, Germany.
In 2003, the picture-book “The Sea Hare (Parol-sha) ” was awarded the Grand-Prix at the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava.
Since 2002 she has lived in Prague.
