Hiroyuki Arai

Born in Tokyo 1974. Works as a picture book author, a toy designer, an illustrator. In addition to picture books, he is also active in design for advertising, television production, toys and decorative/interior merchandise. His Open up! Open up! Series is beloved of many children for its bold use of colour and expressive warmth. He has also created original characters that are being developed into branded toys. He lives with his wife and two children in Tokyo.
