Tuppeny

by Mayumi Takenaka

Yutaro is given a coin by his grandma. When he squeezes it tight, the coin awakens. Yutaro names his coin Tuppeny and they are soon firm friends. One day, Yutaro uses Tuppeny in a vending machine, sending him off on a journey of danger and discovery. This lovely little tale of coins and courage sparks from a simple idea from the author: what if money had soul?
