Pikas are small mammels found in Japan only in Hokkaido. It is known for its all, hence its Japanese name: naki-usagi, “singing rabbit” (although it looks more like a big hamster). This beautifully illustrated book takes the reader at once on a hike through a majestic Hokkaido mountain, and down memory lane with the author-illustrator, who specialises in the natural world. Pika Mountaing is a charming introduction to the habitat and behaviour of these adorable mammals.
