On Albatross Island

by Hiroshi Hasegawa

The short-tailed albatross was mistakenly declared extinct in 1949, before being rediscovered in 1951. Since then, the albatross population has gradually recovered on Torishima, an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. The award-winning photographer, Hiroshi Hasegawa, has spent the past forty years studying and documenting the albatross; his research and recollections are now beautifully presented in this fascinating volume.
