Lanka is a ten year old girl who has arrived in Japan from her own country, a place filled with flowers and lush forest. Despite knowing no Japanese, she starts elementary school and is immediately faced with so many things that are new and strange and hard to understand.
This book has been written with Japanese readers in mind but uses language accessible to Japanese learners too. Its encouraging message is underlined with warm and expressive illustrations.
