08 Kenya – Atieno, Child of the Earth

Lake Victoria, the world’s third largest lake, lies in the west of Kenya, and Usoma is one of the many villages on its shores. Usoma is also home to bubbly 12 year old Atieno. Her life is already busy-she must fit schoolwork around her many household chores. But Atieno finds it easy to forget the hardship, especially when she sets off with her family for church on Sundays.
