Born in Shizuoka. Currently a Professor at the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts. Creates works focused on ideas generated with his students in his research laboratory. Created and oversaw “Pythagora Switch”, an educational television programme first broadcast on NHK in 2002. Now, it has become a perennial children’s favourite, will new episodes still being made and broadcasted. He is active in the development of new games, and in the research of on neuroscience and the nature of expression. He has also written novels and picture books.
